I was scrolling through my texts a couple days ago, which typically consist of wordle shaming and HILARIOUS mom memes, when a friend gifted me a NYT article about Trump leading Biden in five key battleground states. First, like I don’t have my own digital subscription. And second, I would’ve preferred shaming.
According to new polling, Trump, who is currently asleep in the courtroom, leads Biden in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Biden is leading in Wisconsin which is also considered a battleground state so he’s got that going for him. Unless people outside Wisconsin vote.
Biden won all six of those states in 2020 so this could either be really bad news for the president or really good news for RFK, Jr. and his new running mate, the brain-eating worm.
If you’re wondering what’s going on, look no further than that dumbass 23-year-old sitting next to you (at a coffee shop with his emotional support pitbull mix). It’s that guy and his Gen Z cohort that have split their support evenly between Trump and Biden.
Good God. When I was 23, I was walking around Boulder in faded overalls and following the Dave Matthews Band. But even I wasn’t that much of a dumbass.
Unfortunately there’s not much we can do to stop these kids unless we round them up and keep them shackled in our garages (allowing them to binge Euphoria, we’re not monsters) until after Election Day. But I guess that would be wrong. Or would it? Put me down as torn.
But it’s not just these Gen Zers. Biden’s losing his edge with Hispanic and Black voters as well. We can’t AFFORD to lose any more voters. At this rate, we’re going to have to tap into that fraudulent dead voter reserve again.
Meanwhile more than half of voters believe Trump can save the economy. You know, the guy who’s on trial and facing additional lawsuits for lying about his finances and hush money. That guy. Good choice!
In an interview with the NYT, Jennifer Wright, a registered nurse in Michigan who voted for Trump twice and will vote for him again, discussed her cost of living since Biden took office.
“I’m buying Kroger brand or store brand. I’m not buying Jif. We’ve all had to cut back,” she said.
Dude. At least you haven’t sunk to Peter Pan level.
Then there’s 32-year-old Jacob Sprague, a systems engineer in Reno who voted for Biden last time but won’t be making THAT mistake again.
“It is concerning to me when I keep seeing press come out of the White House where they keep saying the economy is good,” he said. “That’s really weird because I’m paying more on taxes and more on groceries and more on housing and more on fuel. So that doesn’t feel good.”
That is weird, Jacob! What’s even weirder is that I had no idea systems engineers in Reno moonlighted as global economists!
The NYT also profiled a group of women who had voted for Trump in 2020. Most of them said they were supporting Trump this time because he’s such a good businessman. Really? Because all the evidence says otherwise. But we’re talking about women. They can’t think clearly because of the hormones.
Take 44-year-old Teri, a white Wisconsin independent systems analyst. She thinks Biden is an “idiot” who doesn’t “think smartly.” But she’s also looking at RFK, Jr. because “knowing that his relatives did very well — it piques my interest.”
What are you TALKING about? The old Kennedys or the new Kennedys who have all disavowed him?
And then there’s 69-year-old Rina, a white semi-retired Pennsylvania Republican who is paying more attention to Trump’s legal woes and how they might impact the election.
“He’s being persecuted,” she says. “We’re living in a banana republic. All of these cases at one time — they’ve been working supposedly on them for six years or so, so they decide all at one time to do this? It’s the only way they’re going to take him out. In the past, we have assassinated presidents. Now we’re doing it politically. This is a coordinated attack.”
Wow. The “Boomers II” generation (I refuse to include Rina in Gen X) is even dumber than Gen Z. Not sure why conspiracy theorist Rina was profiled but I do know one thing. She needs to be one of our garage hostages. We’ll give her VCR tapes of Cagney & Lacey.
The nievety of young voters fighting for a single cause while blocking out the bigger picture is sad. I’m not wild about the US assisting a thug like Netanyahu. But it’s as much for our interest to keep terrorists from Iran and neighboring nations away from Israel. We did this with the Vietnam invasion but that’s when we had, or thought we had, better options for presidents. The same misguided attitude is demonstrated by MAGA. Most have no clue why but simply buy into the vicious lies the insurrectionists sell them. The fact that they don’t or can’t see what a non-Biden vote will cause, is frightening. By the time Social Security and Obamacare are eliminated, these same people might finally come to their senses. Then what…….?
How women, as a gender, can support The Orange Dude is beyond me. He's showed over and over again what his shitty attitude toward women is. My God, women, wake up and smell the sleaze!
