There has never been a Pentagon spouse quite like Jennifer Hegseth. Which, perhaps, is why Trump named his defense secretary’s wife to chair the President’s Military Spouse Commission. I picture meetings as wine-soaked “Read with Jenna” book clubs replete with GLP-1 infusions and the occasional recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Drink!
According to a profile in the NYT, Jennifer once worked out with Marines on the deck of the USS Boxer sporting camo shorts and a “This Is War” t-shirt. I’m waiting for an updated tee with “Especially for the Navy sailors trapped on USS Abraham Lincoln by my husband” on the back.
Jennifer met Pete when she was a producer at Fox News and married with three children. Pete met her while he was still married with three children. And then they had a baby together. Yeah. A bastard baby.
In interviews, Pete credits his “two J’s” — Jennifer and Jesus — with turning his life around. “My Jenny, my wife, Jennifer, changed my life, saved me, there’s just no doubt about it. And without those two J’s, I wouldn’t be sitting here right now.”
Oh, Pete. If only.
The Hegseths attend the conservative Evangelical Christ Church on Capitol Hill and are self-described devout Christians whose blatant infidelity must have been part of God’s plan. What would Jesus do if he fell in love with a Fox News producer while betrothed? I’ll tell you what he would do. He would have had an affair, confess his adulterous sin to himself and be totally redeemed. (Read the bible.)
If Jennifer’s qualified enough to keep her husband from having additional drunken affairs which may or may not be consensual, then she’s more than qualified to sit in on one of the most consequential security breaches of all time.
Jennifer was on that infamous group chat concerning those super classified airstrikes against Yemen. I mean, they invited a journalist to the chat. Surely the chair of the President’s Military Spouse Commission should weigh in.

Hegseth's ghost-written memoir title: How To Be A Joke Without Really Trying
Kinda surprised the tee didn’t read “THESE ARE WAR!”
